Privacy Policy

World Poker Guide ("WPG", "we", "us") operates the website worldpoker.guide and the associated waiting-list web app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — when you sign up for the waiting-list app, we store your email address and a chosen nickname via Firebase Authentication.
- Waiting-list activity — your position and status in poker-room queues, stored in Firestore so the service works in real time.
- Push notification tokens — if you opt in to seat alerts, we store a device messaging token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications. Invalid tokens are removed automatically.
- Location — the map can centre on your position only if you press "Use my location" and your browser grants permission. We do not track or store your location.
- Analytics — Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type), but only after you grant consent.
2. Cookies and consent
We use Google Consent Mode v2 together with Cookiebot. All analytics and advertising storage is denied by default until you make a choice in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the banner.
3. How we use your data
- To run the waiting-list service and notify you when a seat is ready.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and to improve it.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by our infrastructure providers — primarily Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Hosting) and Google Analytics — acting as processors on our behalf. Poker clubs you join a list with can see your queue entry for that list.
5. Data retention
Account and waiting-list data is kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact). Stale push tokens are purged automatically.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
